The Word:

Proverbs 3:21-26 (HCSB) ²¹ Maintain ?your? competence and discretion. My son, don’t lose sight of them. ²² They will be life for you and adornment for your neck. ²³ Then you will go safely on your way; your foot will not stumble. ²⁴ When you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down, and your sleep will be pleasant. ²⁵ Don’t fear sudden danger or the ruin of the wicked when it comes, ²⁶ for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from a snare.

My observation:

This is the appeal to embrace the values that is found in those who trust in the Lord and walk in the pathway of wisdom.

As indicated in this passage, there are blessings and benefits to those who allow Godly wisdom to have total control of their life.

Romans 12:1-2 (HCSB) ¹ Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. ² Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

My inspiration:

Psalm 34:12-15 (HCSB) ¹² Who is the man who delights in life, loving a long life to enjoy what is good? ¹³ Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech. ¹⁴ Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it. ¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry for help.

My prayer:

Our Father in heaven, my dear Father, I pray that you would grant me the measure of faith that I need to be able to trust in you to lead and guide me in the pathway of righteousness all of the days of my life.

Father, help me to remember that the prize is not given to the swift, but to those who hold out until the end.

Father God, I ask you to help me, by thy great and mighty power, to walk with you all the way so that I can say like Paul said to Timothy.

2 Timothy 4:7 (HCSB) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
