About

herb.jpgI am Herb Cotton, a resident of Anchorage, Alaska since 1964. I retired from the business world in 1995. I served for six months as an outside contractor after my retirement. Later I served for eighteen months at the Grandview Baptist Church; first as Church Administrator for three months, and then as Pastor for an interim period for fifteen months.

I now serve the Body of Christ in Anchorage in several ways. I am an ordained deacon in my church. I have served in a number of areas in my church and in the denomination. I am currently serving on the steering committee for the Anchorage Mayors Prayer Breakfast, and on the board of directors of the Alaska Governors Prayer Breakfast.

Since 2001 I have served as the host of a half-hour radio program on KATB Christian Radio, 89.3 FM located in Anchorage, Alaska. I have also been writing a daily devotional for over five years.

The writing ministry and the radio ministry were the areas that God opened for me after I completed my eighteen months serving the Church. I serve in these capacities as a volunteer. I continue to do supply preaching for pastors in the Anchorage area when they have to be away for a few services.

This blog will have daily updates. Sometimes they will be the one I write each day and distributed to my mailing list. However, on certain occasions I will have a series on the topic of prayer.

My passion is to spread the Word of God through whatever means He provides, and to encourage as many people as possible to pray.
