The Joy of Living In the Presence of God

Text:

Zephaniah 3:17 (HCSB)

17  Yahweh your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will bring ?you? quietness with His love. He will delight in you with shouts of joy.”

Observation:

When I take inventory of my cup of blessings, there is none that I treasure more that what is described in our focal passage for today’s meditation.

I draw strength, courage, and peace from knowing that Yahweh, my God, is with me.

But, not only is He with me, the Word says, “He will rejoice over you with gladness”.

There is nothing more important to me in life than to be pleasing in the eyes of the Lord.

Therefore, I can live with the confident assurance that nothing can separate me from the love of God. This includes these schemes of the enemy of God, and our souls.

  • No place can separate me from God.
  • No person can separate me from God.
  • No circumstance can separate me from God.

Romans 8:35 (HCSB)

35  Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Romans 8:37 (HCSB)

37  No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us.

Prayer:

Father God, I am so grateful for the relationship that You desire to have with Your people, and the extent You went to make it possible.

Titus 3:5 (HCSB)

5  He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Father, O the joy of knowing that our God rejoices over His children with gladness, and with love. Father, give us a burning desire in our hearts to rejoice in You, and in the victory You have given us through Jesus our Savior, and Lord. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

What Is God’s Intentions for America?

Text:

Jeremiah 29:11 (HCSB)

11  For I know the plans I have for you”—?this is? the LORD’s declaration—”plans for ?your? welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Observation:

I woke up this morning with this Word of insight and inspiration.

Genesis 50:20 (HCSB)

20  You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result—the survival of many people.

Recent events in our nation reminds me that intentions matter. I am unable the know the intentions of others, but I can know God’s intentions.

What do we know from God’s Word about His plans? We know from Jeremiah 29:11 and Genesis 50:20 these things about God’s intentions; God’s plans.

  • God has a plan.
  • God’s plans are good.
  • God’s plans are better than man’s plans.
  • God’s plans are backed by God’s promises.

What is God’s plan for His people?

John 3:16 (HCSB)

16  “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 20:21 (HCSB)

21  Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

God’s intentions are to heal our land, and to use His people to accomplish His plans.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

John 14:12-14 (KJV)

12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

God’s will is that His people pray. Will you join me in prayer?

Prayer:

Father, hallowed be Your name. Father, I am so thankful that in the midst of the chaos and division we see across America and the world, that You are still God, and that there is none like You.

Father, I give glory and praise to You. Father, I am so thankful that You have a plan, and that it is backed by Your promises. Father, I believe You, and I am standing on the solid rock of the promises of God my Savior, and the lover of my soul.

Father, forgive us of our sins, and heal our land. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

What Say You About Jesus?

Text:

Philippians 2:9-11 (HCSB)

9  For this reason God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name,

10  so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow— of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth—

11  and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Observation:

There are two things in today’s focal passage that God says about Jesus. These are acts of God.

  • God highly exalted Jesus.
  • God gave Jesus the name that is above every name.

What is that name? It is revealed in this verse.

Philippians 2:11 (HCSB)

11  and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

In verse ten Paul writes, “at the name of Jesus every knee will bow – of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth”.

Since every knee will bow someday, why not bow to him today while you are still on earth, and it can do you some good?

Romans 10:9-10 (HCSB)

9  If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10  One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.

Prayer:

Father, hallowed be Your name. Father, I delight to lift my voice and agree with You, “Jesus is Lord”.

There is nothing that man can do to Jesus. However, there is something that Jesus can do for you.

Romans 10:13 (HCSB)

13  For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Father, I thank You for sending Jesus into the world to make it possible for sinners like me to be redeemed. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
