Do You Know the Secret of Having A Good Day?

A Bowl of Encouragement by Herb Cotton

God Speaks:

Matthew 16:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

King James Version (KJV)

Listen to God Speak & Obey:

Simon Barjona didn’t get everything right in his earthly journey, but he gets somethings right. Simon knew who Jesus was, and he had this knowledge because God, the father of our Lord Jesus gave it to him. And, our Father in heaven will do for you and me what He did for Simon.

God still speaks to His people today. He speaks primarily to us through His Word, and with the enabling wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit.

Do you want to have a good day?

Titus 2:11-14 King James Version (KJV)

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

The grace of God that brought you salvation is the same grace that will allow you to live a life that will fulfill your purpose, and bring glory to God.

Romans 6:1-2 King James Version (KJV)

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Father, we thank You for the enabling power of God. Father, help us to live by faith in God all of the days of our life. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

What Kind of Day Will You Have?

Text:

Psalm 37:23 (NLT)

23  The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

Observation:

What determine the kind of day you  will have? Is it determined by people, places, or things?

Who directs your steps? Who controls your life?

The child of God, who is walking in the wisdom of God, can be encouraged by this good word that our steps are ordered by our Christ, and not our circumstances.

Our Christ is so much greater, and powerful than our circumstances. So, lift up your head today, and rejoice in the Lord.

Allow the Son of God, who lives in you, to shine brightly in you, and through you for the glory of God, and the blessing of others.

Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT)

14  “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

15  No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.

16  In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Prayer:

Father God, hallowed be Your name. Father, we are so grateful for the amazing presence, peace, and power of God who lives in the lives of Your children.

Father, I pray that we who are Your people will allow the light of Jesus to shine in us, and through us today. O, how this dark world needs light. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Ephesians 6:10-11 (ESV)
10  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
11  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
