Where Does God Fit In Your Plans?

Text:

Psalm 32:8 (NLT)

8  The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

Observation:

There is great value in dreaming big dreams and having lofty aspirations. These are the fuel that energizes our passion. However, the time comes when we need to take action.

The goodnews for the woman and man of God is that we have a great leader, and He has a wonderful plan for our life.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)

11  For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Let’s look at what God said to Jeremiah, and what Jeremiah said in response to God’s declaration.

Jeremiah 1:5-7 (NLT)

5  “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

6  “O Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”

7  The LORD replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you.

Do you find yourself saying, “I can’t?” You are right. You can’t but God can. Are you ready to let go, and let God have His way in your life?

Are you willing to pray the prayer that David prayed?

Psalm 119:35 (NLT)

35  Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.

Prayer:

Father, hallowed be Your name. We exalt You and give you the praise, glory, and honor befitting our heavenly Father.

Father, we also humble ourselves before you and pray this prayer that your servant David prayed.

Psalm 73:22-24 (NLT)

22  I was so foolish and ignorant— I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.

23  Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand.

24  You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.

Father, tune our hearts to agree with Your heart and give us the desire to know your will and to do it by the strength that you provide. We pray together in the name of Jesus, Amen.

1 Samuel 3:10 (NLT)
10  And the LORD came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.”

Do You Know Your Why?

Text:

John 12:44-50 (HCSB)

44  Then Jesus cried out, “The one who believes in Me believes not in Me, but in Him who sent Me.

45  And the one who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.

46  I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness.

47  If anyone hears My words and doesn’t keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

48  The one who rejects Me and doesn’t accept My sayings has this as his judge: The word I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

49  For I have not spoken on My own, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a command as to what I should say and what I should speak.

50  I know that His command is eternal life. So the things that I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.”

Observation:

This passage from my daily bible reading for today is speaking into my heart, and especially the portion I have chosen for our focal passage.

This passage is a concise, and powerful summary of the calling of Jesus, and His purpose for coming into the world.

What say you about Jesus? Do you know Him? Have you received Him into your life to be your Savior, and the Lord of your life?

John 1:12-13 (KJV)

12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Every child of God has a purpose for being alive. Do you know your calling, and your purpose? Hear and receive what Jesus says to you. This is the prayer that Jesus prayed for you.

John 17:17-19 (HCSB)

17  Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.

18  As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

19  I sanctify Myself for them, so they also may be sanctified by the truth.

Prayer:

Father, hallowed be Your name. Father, thank You for loving us with an everlasting love.

Father, we are humbled by the prayer that Jesus prayed for us, and the provisions He made for us, and the power that is His gift to us.

Father, help us to receive all that You give us, and be obedient children of God; our Father in heaven. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
